FIFA Women's World Cup 2011 Germany:

Interflex Ensures Quick and Secure Access to the Stadium

Stuttgart, 30/06/2011. Interflex Datensysteme GmbH & Co. KG supports the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011 with its security systems at stadiums in Berlin, Frankfurt and Leverkusen. On Sunday, more than 74,000 soccer fans poured into the Olympia stadium in Berlin to see the opening match. Within an hour, they gained entry into the stadium via 120 terminals of the series IF-1752 and 113 turnstiles. Just like at the FIFA World Cup 2006, Interflex personnel are on standby to provide support, if necessary. The security specialists will also guarantee disturbance-free and convenient access to the stadium at the final match on July 17 in Frankfurt.

During the entire World Cup, up to four service technicians will be checking all terminals and systems a day and a half before each match to ensure that everything is working properly. The day before the match, the data of all tickets sold is read into the IF-6020 software. This enables the terminals to recognize all visitors with permission to access the stadium. For the Stuttgart-based security specialists, the World Cup already started at the beginning of June when the security measures at all nine stadiums were certified by the organizing committee. To this end, each venue had to meet a 40-page requirements specification within the short time allotted. This difficult undertaking was successfully completed in time: With a week to go before the start of the World Cup, the FIFA approved the security precautions without any objections.

Terminals and turnstiles were also installed at the BayArena in Leverkusen and the Commerzbank Arena in Frankfurt. The Leverkusen arena was already equipped with the new IF-712 BS stadium terminals. These devices allow contactless reading of tickets with barcodes or integrated RFID chips. Spectators can enjoy three preliminary round matches and one of the quarterfinals at this stadium.

At the Commerzbank Arena in Frankfurt, these multi-reader terminals secure the VIP entrance to the underground parking lot. On June 30, the German national women's soccer team will play their second match there. Furthermore, this stadium will be the stage for another group match, one of the semi-finals and the final match. Interflex is crossing their fingers that the German soccer women will defend their title successfully!
