Interflex on the Road to Success despite Economic Crisis
Despite the difficult overall economic situation, Interflex Datensysteme GmbH & Co. KG, as part of Ingersoll Rand’s Security Technologies Sector, was able to maintain last year’s high sales level. The principal company of the Interflex group, which is based in Stuttgart, Germany, even managed a slight increase of 0.5% in revenue in the year of crisis and closed 2009 with a total of 53.6 million euros in external sales. All in all, with a moderate 3.6% drop in sales, the Interflex product division of the Ingersoll Rand Group was also able to successfully hold its ground in the face of the economic downturn. With external sales of 70.3 million euros (compared to 72.7 million euros in the previous year), the product group achieved an operating profit of 10.1 million euros. Due to the implementation of successful measures for increasing productivity, Interflex was able to maintain their high profit margin which means that the operating profit from external sales only decreased by 0.3 pp from 14.6% in 2008 to 14.3% in 2009.
